Its desalination softener or desalter, is extremely important for the health, the longevity of the espresso machine, but also the quality of the drinks. Of course the following procedure only concerns the softener and not the water filters of the espresso machine.

  • 1) We close the Machine
  • 2) Turn the upper valve all the way to the right, letting water run from the tube until it stops.
  • 3) We also turn the lower valve all the way to the right
  • 4) Open the cap and pour 1 kg of coarse salt (The quantity refers to 8lt softener)
  • 5) Carefully close the cap.
  • 6) Turn the upper valve all the way to the left and desalination begins, running salty water from the lower tube.
  • 7) After about 45 minutes, test the water and once the saltiness is completely gone, turn the bottom valve all the way to the left
  • 8) Desalination is complete. We can open the engine.
